If These Walls Could Talk

We were still trying to get over our jet lag and had no set plans for the day, so we ended up sleeping until almost noon! It was great. Unfortunately during our long night’s sleep we must have been joined by a family of mosquitoes!

We decided there was still one must do thing we hadn’t in the city and that was to walk the city walls. It was hot, but the views were beautiful - and there were several shaded cafes to stop at and refresh ourselves along the way.

After exiting the walls we made our way to the oldest pharmacy in the world - unfortunately they were closed (it apparently was a holiday) so we weren’t able to get any relief for our bug bites (side note - usually in Europe things like medicine, even Tylenol, can only be purchased from an official pharmacy). But since we were there we decided to tour the Franciscan monastery and pharmacy museum (which was open).

Of course by this point we were ready for another break and some more shade. Once again we selected a spot along the Stradun (the main thoroughfare) as it provided excellent people watching.

Even though we slept in, we were still tired after a day of sightseeing - and we were still craving those potatoes. So we went home to have our leftovers for dinner and hung out on our balcony for a bit before calling it a night, as we had to be up early the next morning.
